Officers on lookout for OU-UT game drunk drivers

HOUSTON College football fans are sure to pack the bars and watch parties.

State troopers say there's a good chance some of those people will be driving under the influence after the game. That's why they along with local law enforcement will be on the lookout for drunk drivers.

"The troopers that are out on the roads know their specific counties and know their roads and know exactly where they need to work," DPS Trooper Gabriel Medrano said. :And, of course, during the weekends, they are especially alert to hopefully intercept some of these drunk drivers out on the road ways."

Last year, 64 percent of all fatalities happened during football season. Nearly half of those who drink at a football watching party say they drove home afterwards.
