Man arrested after painting 'A' on wall of DA's office

HOUSTON Allen Delaine walked into the DA's office Monday afternoon and painted the letter "A" on the wall with black paint. We checked Delaine's criminal history, and found that he had been given one year of probation after being arrested for prostitution five years ago.

He said he painted on the wall of the DA's office because he felt he had been marked like the character from the famous novel "The Scarlet Letter."

"They did me wrong. They put a scarlet letter on me. I put a scarlet letter on them," said Delaine.

"You just hope to send a message to the DA's office?" we asked.

"The DA's office was wrong," he responded. "What they do to people is wrong for conviction rate."

Delaine was arrested moments after painting on the wall.
