Man arrested for breaking into elementary school
GALVESTON, TX
Galveston ISD police responded to an alarm of glass breakage on the campus of Parker Elementary School at 6802 Jones Drive around 2:40am. Upon arrival, the officers with assistance from the Galveston Police Department observed a man exiting through a window on the west side of the building carrying two computer monitors.
The suspect spotted the police, dropped both computer monitors and fled. After an extensive search, police located the suspect around 4am and took him into custody. The computer monitors were recovered.
Police charged the 20-year-old suspect with evading arrest and burglary of a building. The suspect was incarcerated without incident.
Galveston ISD says regular class schedules were not interrupted because of the disturbance.
