Driver killed after losing control in rain, crashes

HOUSTON League City police said the driver was heading down the 3000 block of the Interstate 45 South near FM 646 during a period of heavy rain the when the accident occurred. The driver somehow lost control, crashed into the center retainer wall and rolled over, landing upside down across the center of the lane.

Witnesses said the driver was trying to get out of the driver's side of the truck when another truck travelling in the center lane sideswiped the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's identification is being withheld pending notification of family members.
