Baytown encouraging voters to vote early

BAYTOWN, TX The suggestion follows last month's fire at the Harris County elections department warehouse, which destroyed 10,000 pieces of voting equipment. Harris County is working with other counties and cities to collect voting equipment before the November elections.

Harris Country residents should call 713-755-6965 or visit www.harrisvotes.org to apply. Chambers County residents can call 409-267-8309.

Ballot applications must be mailed to Harris County, Early Voting Clerk, P. O. Box 1525, Houston, Texas 77251-1525 or to Chambers County, Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 728, Anahuac, TX 77514.

Completed applications must be received by the end of the day, October 26.

Early voting in person will take place October 18 through October 29.

Harris County will have a branch early voting polling location at the Baytown Community Center at 2407 Market Street. Early voting office hours are as follows:

Monday, October 18 - Friday, October 22: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 23: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday, October 24: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Monday, October 25 - Friday, October 29: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Chambers County will have a branch early voting polling location at the Chambers County Community Building-Cedar Bayou Annex, 7711 Highway 146. Early voting office hours are as follows:

Monday, October 18th - Friday, October 22nd: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Monday, October 25th - Friday, October 29th: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
