Long-time community activist Beulah Shepard dies

HOUSTON Family members tell us Beulah Shepard passed away today. She worked with commissioner E.A. Squatty Lyons for 25 years and later with Senator John Whitmire.

Shepard had a stroke in 2007, and family members say her health had deteriorated. She was 89 years old.
