Keeping an eye on the tropics

First, Igor, which was downgraded to a tropical depression yesterday, regained storm status this morning and is expected to intensify into a major hurricane. By next week, it could affect the east coast. Even if it stays far out to sea, it will produce rough surf along the Eastern Seaboard.

We're also watching a low-pressure system that's stationary over the Windward Islands. Most computer models eventually move it into the Gulf. So far nothing has developed, but it is slowly organizing and something we'll keep you informed on.

Keep watching Eyewitness News for the latest on both of these storms and you can track them anytime on abc13.com.
