'Speechless robber' hits NW Harris Co. bank

HOUSTON At approximately 12:25pm Saturday, the suspect entered the Chase bank located at 12210 FM 1960 West and gave a teller a threatening demand note. When the teller attempted to talk with the suspect, he motioned that he could not hear. The teller believed the robber may have possibly been deaf and mute. The teller provided him with some cash and the suspect fled the bank on foot.

No weapon was directly observed, but witnesses did observe a bulge in the man's waistband. No one was physically hurt.

The robber is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 160-170 pounds with a very dark complexion. During the robbery, he wore dark-colored clothing.
