The Harris County Sheriff's Office wants to make sure everyone stays safe during one of the biggest boating weekends of the year. On Friday, the Reserve Marine division gathered along the San Jacinto River. That's the spot where seven people have drowned this year.

According to deputies, extreme heat, fatigue and poor swimming skills were factors in each case.

Authorities want everyone to remember to be careful while in the water and keep a close eye on children.
