HPD officer involved in deadly shooting

HOUSTON It happened just before noon at an apartment complex on Old Farm near Westheimer in southwest Houston. Police say the man had blocked the woman's car with his truck, broke her window and was trying to pull her out of the car.

The officer, who works a second job as security at the complex, heard screaming and heard the man say he was going to kill the woman.

Police say the officer identified himself and told the man to stop. The officer says the man pulled a weapon and pointed it at the officer, who shot and killed the man.

The woman suffered minor cuts and bruises.
