Vehicle strikes bicyclist in Upper Kirby area

HOUSTON The car was traveling eastbound on Alabama, turning northbound onto Kirby when the driver hit a man riding a bicycle. The rider smacked against the car's hood and windshield, causing the windshield to 'spider-web' with cracks.

The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The vehicle's driver was not injured.

The female driver and witnesses told police the rider came out of nowhere. A Houston police officer told us the bicyclist was at fault as the driver had the right of way.
