Two charged in shooting of 4-year-old girl

HOUSTON The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in the 13500 block of Castilian. The girl's stepfather told deputies that three men fired several shots at the back door area and kicked in that door before fleeing.

Patrick Hebert, 20, and Trent Windfont, 21, are charged with burglary of a habitation and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators have identified Hebert as the shooter. They say the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

The child wounded has been identified as Marqueeta Davis, 4. She has been released from the hospital.
