Houston native Kelly Rowland giving back to teens

HOUSTON Rowland held a private question and answer session with teen girls to talk about the importance of education. She even came with some donated fashions to give to the girls for their first week back.

Rowland says she remembers how hard it was for her to afford the latest trends when she was growing up.

"How insecure it made me feel and I definitely wanted to make sure that we were there for the young ladies and get them pumped this year for the school year," Rowland said.

The event was part of Rowland's "I Heart my Girlfriends" organization.
