What are your Hurricane Katrina memories?

It's been five years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the southeastern coast of Louisiana as a Category 3 storm. The storm showed the vulnerability of New Orleans levee system, as nearly 80 percent of the city became flooded and nearly 1,500 people were killed. Many evacuees from the storm came here to Houston and took shelter in the Astrodome.

Some went back to New Orleans. Other stayed here in Houston. What are your memories of the storm? How has it affected southeast Texas. And if you evacuated to Houston and stayed, what do you like or dislike about your new home?
