Ex-coach facing child porn charges

BAYTOWN, TX Authorities say this case is particularly despicable, because the suspect not only helped raise money for children with cancer, but at one time was also a Little League coach.

Eyewitness News has also learned that besides the suspect, his girlfriend is also expected to be charged in this case.

John Hunt, 39, has been honored as an 'unsung hero' by the Baytown Sun for fundraising for children with cancer. Now that same newspaper featured a darker, more sinister headline. Hunt has been charged with possession of child pornography and promotion of child pornography.

Lt. Eric Feed with the Baytown Police Department said, "This is among the worst cases we've dealt with."

Authorities raided Hunt's Baytown home in June and confiscated his computer, containing two dozen videos of child pornography. Authorities say the children ranged in age from 3 to 13 years old.

"Child pornography was found on his computer," Lt. Freed said. "When officers entered the home, the computer was actively sharing child pornography videos. There was also one that was cued up on his computer screen that was ready to view."

Jon Moore says he was angry when he found out about the criminal charges against Hunt. Moore is a past president of the Baytown North Little League where Hunt coached his son's Little League baseball team from approximately 2007 to 2009. Hunt passed a criminal background check and had no complaints from parents or anyone else.

Moore said, "There were no red flags. There was nothing that would stand out to me or anybody else."

Authorities say there is no evidence at this time to indicate that any children in Baytown may be involved in this crime. However, they are asking if anyone believes they have been victimized by this suspect to call the Baytown Police Department.

Authorities expect to make an arrest of Hunt and his girlfriend within the next couple of days.
