Buffalo Soldiers National Museum opens Camp Logan exhibit

HOUSTON The museum has put on display Camp Logan artifacts on loan from local historian Robbie Morin. On August 23, 1917, a black Army corporal tried to stop the beating of a black woman by a police officer and police started beating the corporal.

A riot followed, involving 100 black soldiers and dozens of police officers. Seventeen people died in the riot.
