Man arrested for leaving scene after striking motorcycle

HOUSTON Police say around 7pm Saturday, a man riding a motorcycle was traveling Eastbound on Highway 90A when he was hit by a pickup truck that was turning onto Highway 90A from Grayless. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the motorcycle, Michael Levitz, 30, of Rosenberg suffered serious head injuries and was transported via LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

After witnesses described the truck to the investigating officers, the truck was located in the 1200 block of Herman Drive in Richmond. Officers found some old citations in the truck which led them back to an address in the 100 block of Highway 90A.

The driver of the truck, identified as Juan Francisco Nieto-Jimenez, 21, of Richmond, was located at the above address. Nieto was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid.
