Hit and run wreck caught on camera

HOUSTON On Thursday, July 1, at around 2pm, the victim was attempting to catch a bus. As he was crossing Fondren in the middle of the street he was hit by a man driving a regular cab, dark colored Ford pickup with silver trim at the bottom of the truck. There was also a silver tool box in the bed of the truck.

According to Crime Stoppers, the man stopped and got out of his truck and went to check on the victim. The victim was lying on the side of the road unconscious. The driver appeared to be on his cell phone and stayed at the scene for approximately five minutes.

As other witnesses tried to help the victim, the suspect got into his truck and drove off with out leaving any of his information at the scene. The victim suffered a broken pelvis, broken shoulder, and broken lower right leg. He was transported to a local hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station caught the accident on video, as well as the suspect walking around afterwards. The suspect is wearing a light colored shirt and hat and talking on his cell phone.
