A Houston woman is finally out of a Michigan jail after forking over more than $400,000.

A judge there has been holding Janice Stanton Hines in contempt since December. She's accused in probate court of stealing almost $800,000 from her ailing mother.

The court believes she bought gold with the money, but it hasn't been found.

Hines' husband wrote a check to a court-appointed attorney for $402,000, and she was released.
