Arrest made in fatal shooting of teen

HOUSTON Alberto Cardenas, 15, and his two friends were at a home in the Village of Spring Oaks subdivision last week when they were confronted by a group of five men and robbed. Cardenas was shot and killed.

Investigators say they got a tip about the 16-year-old suspect trying to leave the area and stopped him on the Eastex Freeway Monday night.

"We had units in the area maintaining surveillance and that's how we were able to see the vehicle heading northbound on 59 today," reported Capt. Wally Wieghat with the Harris Co. Constables Office.

Two other adults in the getaway car were also taken into custody and were all questioned by detectives.

Authorities are looking for at least 4 other suspects.
