The body of a woman who died inside her trash-filled home had to be pulled out through the roof because there was no other way in. Police were called to the Chicago-area home Monday afternoon after the victim's 54-year-old daughter was heard screaming for help. She reported her elderly mother, Marie Davis, was dead inside.

Rescue crews had to cut a hole in the roof to retrieve the woman's body.

"You couldn't get inside there," said Commander Michael Ruth with the Skokie Police Department. "There was maybe 2 1/2 to 3 feet from the ceiling to the top of debris."

Neighbors say they tried to help Davis in the past, but say she was reclusive.
