HPD officer run over by patrol car

HOUSTON

According to a police department spokesperson, Stanley Brown was running radar when he thought a vehicle was coming at him. He partially jumped back into the vehicle to take cover but part of his equipment hit against the gear, putting the car out of park. The car started to roll and injured his right hip and right leg.

He was transported to Hermann Hospital. X-Ray images taken of Brown show he didn't suffer any broken bones, but doctors are keeping him overnight for observation.

Brown has been a veteran of the police department for more than 15 years.
