Jackson Lee returns from trip to Afghanistan

HOUSTON She says it's time for Afghanistan's leadership to assume more control over the country's future.

"No amount of treasure and blood that we shed on behalf of the United States men and women, the soldiers of families here in this country, is going to change the destiny of the Afghan people unless their leadership takes hold," Jackson Lee said.

The democrat was part of the first house delegation to visit Afghanistan since General David Petraeus took charge of the war.

Jackson lee says the u-s should stick to its July 2011 withdrawal deadline.

She wants Afghanistan to clean up corruption and be ready to take over security before the deadline.
