The 33-year-old San Antonio woman is charged with capital murder in the death of her son, Scott Wesley Buchholz-Sanchez.
A judge ruled in November that a jury would decide whether Sanchez was mentally competent to stand trial. If Sanchez is allowed to plead not guilty, she will be sent to a state mental institution.
