Routine traffic stop turns into wild police chase

HOUSTON Officers chased the man to an apartment complex near Westridge in southwest Houston last night. The chase started on the south 610 Loop when the suspect refused to pull over for police.

At one point, police say the suspect stopped his vehicle then tried to run over an officer as he approached.

The suspect eventually jumped out of the vehicle and tried to hide in a nearby apartment before being arrested. He's facing charges of felony evading and assault on a police officer.
