Investigators say Byrd allegedly stole drugs that he was to deliver to a customer.
Frank "Thumper" Lavelle Urbish Jr. of Beaumont, Michael "Bucky" Dewayne Smith of Houston and Jim "Q-Ball" Flint McIntyre of Houston are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder and being convicted felons in possession of firearms.
Smith and McIntyre face additional weapons counts.
Conviction could mean life in prison.
