Families in Pasadena say they're sick and tired of waiting weeks and weeks for an opportunity to see a doctor, and they're speaking out about it. Members of the Texas Organizing Project (TOP) held a press conference Thursday morning at Strawberry Clinic on East Shaw in Pasadena to urge the Harris County Hospital District to improve the length of time it takes to get a doctor's appointment. Protestors claim Pasadena families cannot afford to wait weeks and many times months to be seen by a doctor.

"The longer we wait, the sicker we get," said TOP member Alberto Patino.

After attending a TOP community meeting on April 24, Harris County Hospital District CEO David Lopez promised to address the long wait period. But protestors claim the situation has not improved, and Lopez is unable to meet with the group again until late July.

"We already wait too long for our appointments and now we have to wait close to three months on the person who promised to make the changes," said Olga Rocha.
