Parents and students at a local charter school joined together Thursday afternoon to give their support after a teacher from the school was caught on camera hitting a student. The parents met outside Jamie's House Charter School on Bamwood Street. They said they feel the school is safe and good for their children.

Last month, a teacher at Jamie's House Charter School was recorded on cell phone video beating up a 13-year-old student, as others stood by watching.

Since the video surfaced, that teacher has been charged with injury to a child and three other school employees have been charged with failure to report child abuse.

The Texas Education Agency has appointed an executor to oversee the school.
