Eyewitness News political consultant Dr. Richard Murray says the poll is a boost to the Democrat's campaign.
"These are pre-election polls, but you like to do pretty well in them because it helps you raise money and keeps the enthusiasm up among your troops," he said. "The Perry camp will probably dismiss this as an outlier, just saying every other poll shows we're ahead."
Just last week, a Rasmussen poll showed Perry leading 48 to 40.
