Police: Drug-related shooting leaves 3 injured

HOUSTON It happened at a home on Marble Arch near Bishops Gate. Police say two suspects entered and opened fire on two other men in the garage at the home. One of the men was shot at least three times in the chest and abdomen.

As the two shooters were fleeing the scene, another man next door, who heard the gunshots and witnessed the men running away, got his shotgun and opened fire to try to stop them.

"He fired his shotgun because he had heard the shots coming from the outside," said Sgt. Ron Hunter with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "He didn't know where they were coming from."

One of the suspects was shot in the upper arm. The other suspect got away. All three shooting victims were taken to Ben Taub Hospital. There were at least three women inside the home at the time of the shooting, one of them elderly. None of them were injured.

Police say this is the fourth shooting at this home and it appears to be drug-related. Authorities found marijuana inside.

The neighbor who fired his shotgun isn't expected to face any charges.
