Family escapes fire, 3 cats die in blaze

One firefighter was injured last night trying to put out a huge fire in west Houston. Firefighters were called to a home on Rodrigo and Prague around 8:30pm. They had to pull two alarms because the way the two-and-a-half story home was built was making it hard to put out the flames. Eventually, the entire house burned.

The homeowners all made it out safely, but three cats did not survive. The injured firefighter suffered a minor abrasion and was treated on scene.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
