A jury in Galveston has acquitted a man accused of hitting a woman with a cantaloupe-size bag of Mardi Gras beads dropped from a second-story balcony. Larry Dean Wiseman of Houston was acquitted of assault causing bodily injury.

Prosecutor Virginia Jones says Wiseman was accused of hitting Ingrid Gonzalez in the back of her head on Feb. 2, 2008.

Defense attorney Tad Nelson says Wiseman wasn't the person who threw the beads during an argument allegedly involving a threat and use of profanity. Jones says Wiseman was the correct defendant.

Gonzalez denied the allegations and using profanity.
