Pearland super speller goes for title today

Tonight, $40,000 is on the line for the Pearland speller hanging strong in the national Spelling Bee.

Aditya Chemudupaty, 13, breezed through the preliminaries. He correctly spelled 'crotalic,' which is an adjective meaning "of or related to rattlesnakes".

The eighth-grader from Nolan Ryan Jr. High School now moves on to the semi-finals, which airs today at 9am on ESPN. The finals are tonight on ABC13 beginning at 7pm.
