Off-duty detective helps save girl's life
NEW BRAUNFELS, TX
Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Detective Vanessa Brady and a nurse helped revive the drowning girl on Saturday by performing CPR.
Brady and her family were in New Braunfels for the Memorial Day weekend when the mother of the12-year-old started panicking because she couldn't find her daughter.
A diver later found the girl about 30 feet down in the Guadalupe River and pulled her out of the water.
The girl wasn't breathing, so Brady and a nurse who was nearby began the CPR process together. The girl was slowly revived and transported to a local hospital in San Antonio.
