There are other ceremonies taking place all over Houston area, including Sugar Land, Friendswood, Hempstead, Waller County, Katy and Baytown.
Memorial Day events to honor veterans
HOUSTON
Houston Mayor Annise Parker will offer remarks and present a proclamation this morning at the cemetery.
Also speaking today at the event is Governor Rick Perry.
The ceremony begins at 9:30am in the amphitheater at the national cemetery.
