Police manhunt leads to school lockdown

HOUSTON Police began chasing a suspect in a white Ford F150 pickup truck at about 9:45am. After a high-speed pursuit, the driver left the road, heading into a wooded area along the banks of Cypress Creek near I-45.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the suspects were wanted in a bank robbery. Two suspects were caught quickly, but one eluded authorities until nearly 11am. He was bitten by a police dog before being taken into custody, but he's expected to be OK.

Spring ISD officials put Spring High School and McNabb Elementary on lockdown during the search, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after 11am.
