Toddler struck by truck at car wash
HOUSTON Police say a woman was behind the wheels of a red pickup truck when it ran over the child at a car wash on Fulton and Morris. Investigators say the little girl was walking with her mother and sister when she darted in front of the truck. The woman driving didn't see her and ran over the little girl. Jesse Castrejon was working in a taco truck when he heard the little girl scream. "I was making tacos, and suddenly screamed, picked her up and that's it," Castrejon said. An ambulance was called to the scene. Police say the girl is lucky. Despite having tire marks on her stomach from this truck, she suffered mainly a broken leg. The girl was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to recover. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
