Fatal accident shuts down Eastex Freeway
HOUSTON
The accident involved an 18-wheeler in the middle of Highway 59 northbound just past the I-45 split near the GRB Convention Center.
Police say the driver of a tan Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling northbound on the Eastex Freeway when she failed to maintain a single lane and drifted into the lane of a tractor trailer truck. The truck struck the car, fatally injuring the female driver.
The female victim, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
