Police: Woman killed, child sent to hospital in crash

HOUSTON According to police, the driver of a black Lexus was traveling in a Fiesta parking lot on Fondren when his vehicle struck another vehicle. When the driver of the Lexus attempted to flee the scene at a high rate of speed, his vehicle struck a sign in the parking lot, killing a female in the front seat passenger. The 30-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver and a child sitting in the back seat were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
