Galveston police ID man found shot in truck

HOUSTON Detectives identified the shooting victim as James Edward Baker, 56, of Cypress, Texas. Baker is in stable condition at UTMB Hospital, but unable to be interviewed by detectives at this time.

After being shot at an unknown location, Baker drove himself to the San Luis Bridge toll booth and told the attendants he had been shot around 8:30pm Tuesday night. The attendants called 911. At the time, Baker did not have any form of identification on him.

Detectives are obtaining a search warrant to process Baker's blue 2003 Toyota Tundra truck for evidence. Currently, there is no known motive for the crime.
