Child reportedly left in hot car for a few hours

BAYTOWN, TX Just after 1pm, Life Flight was called to transport a two-year-old girl who had reportedly been left in a car for at least two hours in Baytown.

According to authorities on the scene, the girl's mother usually drops her off at day care, but today the father took the two-year-old and the family's two other children. After dropping off the older children at school, the father went to his place of business and went in to make some phone calls, forgetting the child was still in the car. When the father remembered, officials say, he discovered the girl hot and unresponsive, but breathing.

The father took the little girl to a nearby fire station where the crew proceeded to bring the child's core temperature down and provided the child with oxygen. Medics and Life Flight were called and the child was transported to Houston.

Officers could be seen investigating a Volvo sitting outside a car dealership on Alexander at Fayle.
