Roofing companies scamming Woodlands residents

When is the last time you went up on your roof? It's probably been a while, and that's what scam artists in The Woodlands are hoping for. The sheriff's office has received several reports of roofing companies lying to residents. The roofers go door to door offering to inspect the homeowners' roofs for wind damage. The workers come down with pictures of damage, but investigators say they are the ones doing the damage while they are up on the roof.

If you have any information on the scam, call the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-STOP. There is a cash reward.
