Firefighters busy battling different fires

HOUSTON Just before 11pm firefighters responded to a home on Clemwood near Woodspring Acres in northeast Harris County. The home, which was still in the process of being built, was a total loss. This is the second house under construction in the subdivision to catch fire in weeks.

Fire officials won't say whether they think both cases may be the work of an arsonist.

The second fire began around 11:30pm at an apartment complex on Town Park at Point West in southwest Houston. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the laundry room. Crews were able to contain the fire from spreading to nearby apartment homes.

Arson officials are investigating. No one was hurt.

The third fire broke out around 9pm Sunday at a home in southeast Houston. Firefighters were called out to a house on Belmark near South Wayside. Crews were able to contain the flames fairly quickly. The home is in the process of being renovated. No one was inside.

Arson investigators are also looking into that fire.
