Police: Reckless driver causes HPD car crash

HOUSTON The accident happened just before 3am Saturday morning on the Katy Freeway in west Houston. The HPD unit was transporting the two prisoners to jail. A car swerved in front of the police cruiser and kept going. The officer swerved to avoid hitting the car and lost control. But, the patrol car hit an SUV causing it to roll over.

The driver of the SUV went to the hospital with minor injuries. The two prisoners and police officers were not hurt.
