Patients reunite with those who saved them

HOUSTON

More than 20 trauma survivors met the first responders and doctors from the Harris County Hospital District who helped them. The victims include a girl who accidentally pierced her heart with a pencil at school and an HPD officer shot in the face and a woman crushed by a truck.

"When they released me, I couldn't speak. I couldn't walk, I couldn't move my arms," trauma survivor Juanita Arreola said. "I had metal in most of parts of my body; they fixed me up; they save my life."

Arreola, decide to show her gratitude by volunteering with the hospital district.
