Events held to celebrate Earth Day around Houston

HOUSTON EARTH DAY JAZZ IN THE PARK
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. This free event culminates in a performance by the University of Houston Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Noe Marmolejo, with special guest saxophonists David Caceres, Warren Sneed and Woody Witt. Because of the travel situation in Europe, previously announced saxophonist Bill Evans is unable to appear.

Earth Day Celebration is being held at the Children's Museum of Houston, April 22-28. Spend a beautiful spring day or week learning about the flora and fauna around us! WEATHER MUSEUM
The Weather Museum is located at 5104 Caroline Street in the Museum District and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors. EARTH DAY CONCERT
In celebration of Environmental Week, Sugar Land Town Square and the City of Sugar Land present an Earth Day concer featuring Vocal Trash, a Texas-based band that uses recycled material to create music that is equally brilliant and unique. WASTE MANAGEMENT EARTH DAY AT THE HOUSTON ZOO

MINUTE MAID PARK
Tuesday's game marks the launch of the Astros Play Green campaign, which creates awareness of environmental initiatives in Houston. Astros players will wear green Astros baseball caps during the game against the San Diego Padres, and an Earth-friendly expo will take place before the 7:05 p.m. game. 5:30-9:30 p.m. April 22. The first 10,000 fans will receive a green cap with the Astros Play Green logo and a canvas eco-totebag.

MOODY GARDENS
Earth Day activities include arts and crafts, an environmental puppet show and other entertainment for the family.
