School bus carrying 10 hit head on by vehicle
HOUSTON
Around 6:30am, officials said a Klein ISD bus carrying ten students was hit head on by a vehicle on Boudreaux Rd. near the Willow Dell subdivision. The bus was traveling southbound on Boudreaux when it was struck by the vehicle, which was also in the south bound lane. A second vehicle struck the first vehicle and a third swerved to avoid the collision, ending up in a ditch.
Klein ISD said the ten students on the bus, a mixture of intermediate and high-schoolers, were examined by emergency medical personnel at the scene. Seven of the students were picked up by a second bus and taken on to school. Two other students were picked up at the scene by their parents. A third student was taken to the hospital to be looked over after complaining of a headache and face pain.
Officials said the driver of the car that hit the bus is a student at Klein Oak High School. He had to be extricated from the car and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the second car is also a Klein Oak High School student, and was picked up at the scene by his parents. The condition of the driver of the third vehicle is unknown.
The bus driver was not hurt. There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
