ABC13 E-cycling Drive huge success

HOUSTON At this year's drive, we gathered recyclables from 1,320 cars, at an average of 165 cars per hour, with the help of 55 volunteers from five volunteer groups. But now that the drive has ended, what can you do if you didn't get a chance to bring your electronics to the Channel 13 Studios? There are other options.

On Monday, April 19, from 8am to 4:30pm residents can bring remaining electronics to CompuCycle for free recycling at 7700 Kempwood Drive, Houston TX 77055. For additional information, call 713-869-6700 or visit compucycle.net

Also, the Westpark Consumer Recycling Center allows all Houstonians the opportunity to recycle their used goods. The center computers and other residential electronic scraps, as well as a wide assortment of other recyclables. Those include: #1 - 5 and #7 plastics (not toys, packing materials, flower pots, styrofoam, plastic bags, or plastic furniture), aluminum and tin cans, B.O.P.A. cardboard, glass bottles and jars, magazines, newspapers, office paper, oil filters, telephone books, used motor oil, used tires.

The Westpark Consumer Recycling Center is located at 5900 Westpark, Houston, TX 77057. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8am to 5pm.
