46-year veteran named HPD Officer of the Year

HOUSTON The Houston Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association named HPD senior police Officer David Freytag its Officer Of The Year for 2009.

The 72-year-old Freytag joined the department 46 years ago.

Officer Freytag also formed the HPD Honor Guard, a detail in which he still participates.
