A driver was killed Thursday morning after a car plunged from the second story of a parking garage in west Houston. It happened just before 9am at a parking garage on the West Belt at Valley Forge. A vehicle in the garage surged forward through the tension cables on the second level, falling to the ground below. Police aren't saying exactly what happened, but an investigation is underway.

The Sienna minivan landed on its roof. The 62-year-old driver was pinned in and rescued by Houston Fire Department paramedics. He was taken to Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
